Location, location, location

Oh my goodness!
Exciting blog news is about to be upon you readers.........

We just checked out a possible location for the commons and its great!
It has so much potential and more, it is bigger than we could possibly have imagined, and it is brilliantly situated.
The down side, it requires a lot of work. I mean A LOT.

Send in the tradies!

Please let us know if you have trade prowess and are able to donate some time and back breaking labor. In return you will be a part of a great new opportunity, renewing Newcastle, supporting the community, and will feel all warm and fuzzy inside. We can probably throw in a few coffees as well.

That is all.
Have a nice day,
Tim.

And so it begins!

Welcome to the maiden voyage post of The Commons Cafe - a new project in the heart of Newcastle, Australia aiming to create an alternative retail space in the form of a cafe cum creative space cum dry goods store. But it is more than either of these; The Commons Cafe is a movement: all are common, and none excluded. This blog will document our progress as we work towards opening the doors of a "common space" in Newcastle in early 2012.

Today's progress included meeting with local graphic designer Luke Oliver to get the ball rolling on spreading the Common word. This led to his suggestion of starting a blog. Woot!

In fact all manner of word-spreading has been considered and there is now a 'The Commons Cafe' facebook page, thecommonscafe@gmail.com email account and there are soon to be flyers, cards and posters.

Become a commoner!
Join the movement you are already a part of. Contact us by email if you are interested in learning more, and watch this space for future developments...

Thats all for now,
Tim.
