February happenings

Greetings Commoners!

We hope this post finds you happy and healthy. We have kicked off 2013 with a couple of great events, and would like to let you know about what is coming up at the Commons:

1. The Commons community meeting
2. Cheesemaking 'With Miss Kate'
3. Newcastle Craft Collective

1. The Commons community meeting
Tuesday 5th February, 7pm at the Commons (Level 1, 150 Beaumont Street Hamilton)

The Commons is having a community meeting and you should be there! Why?

*Find out where the Commons is at, and how it's been going.
*Help us deliberate/decide what to do this year re: opening hours, planning events, etc.
*Hear more about what resources are available for you to plan your event/have your own group use the Commons!
*Share your ideas, big or small.
*Give some feedback on the Commons
*Find out how you can be involved.
*Drink coffee & tea and have a good catch up!

The more the merrier! We really look forward to catching up with (or meeting) you all, and dreaming about 2013!

2. Cheesemaking 'With Miss Kate'
Tuesday 5th February, 11am-12.30pm at the Commons

Home Cheesemaking' classes for beginners continues at the Commons, with Paneer/Panir, the fresh Indian cheese used either crumbled or cubed and fried in curries, most famously with spinach and potato. It's mild but can be jazzed up by infusing it with spices, is affordable and can be made in bulk and frozen.
Cost is $30. All milk/ingredients and equipment, plus free tasters, are provided. Coffee/tea available. RSVP to withmisskate{at}hotmail.com

3. Newcastle Craft Collective - 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month
(next meeting Wednesday 6th February, 7pm at the Commons).

A hearty welcome to the Newcastle Craft Collective, who have begun meeting at the Commons in 2013. This is an open group, and anyone interested is welcome to attend. The group asks a gold coin donation to cover Commons outgoings, and encourages people to bring their new or existing craft projects. For more information visit http://newcraftcollective.com.au or find them on Facebook athttp://www.facebook.com/NewCraftCo

A happy day to you all!
